Laminated bus windshield glass produced to the original equipment profile for city buses, coaches, school buses and minibuses. Every piece is built from two panes of float glass bonded with a PVB interlayer and carries the ECE R43 mark.
Available glass types
Standard laminated
6.0 mm + 6.0 mm float glass with a 0.76 mm PVB interlayer. The workhorse specification for city and intercity buses.
Acoustic laminated
Uses an acoustic PVB interlayer that reduces cabin noise by up to 4 dB at highway speed — a common request for long-distance coaches.
Heated windshield
Integrated heating elements for cold-climate markets and for buses operating in high-humidity regions where condensation is a problem.
Solar control
Green or grey tinted glass that cuts solar heat gain and reduces air-conditioning load.

Why laminated, not tempered
Under ECE R43 and US FMVSS 205, laminated glass is mandatory for bus windshields. The reason is simple: when a laminated pane breaks, the fragments stay bonded to the interlayer instead of spraying into the cabin. On a tempered pane there is nothing to hold the pieces together.
Certification and testing
Every production batch is tested for light transmittance, curvature profile, edge stress and impact resistance (227 g steel ball from 2 m). Test reports are available for each shipment on request.
Ordering information
Quoted FOB Shanghai or Ningbo. Packed in wooden crates with EPE foam and corner protectors, typically 10 pieces per crate. Loading capacity for a 20GP container is around 120 pieces.
Frequently asked questions
Can you match the exact curvature of the original glass?
Yes. We hold tooling for over 3,500 bus models. If your model is not in our library, send a physical sample or a curvature scan and we will produce the mould.
Is the windshield supplied with the seal?
The windshield alone by default. Seals, adhesives and trim can be supplied as a kit on request — tell us your preference when ordering.
What if the glass arrives damaged?
We photograph and record every piece during packing. In the rare case of transit damage, send photos within 7 days of arrival and we replace the pieces free of charge.
